Beautiful and solid
In addition to its excellent grinding mechanism, the Peugeot stainless is beautiful and very solid and should last at least as long as my kitchen.

Does this have plastic on the inside? My wooden Peugeot recently stopped working and when I removed the peppercorns a piece of plastic about the size of a dime fell out.

Best Answer:Yes it does. There os a plastic disk the diameter of the bottom part of the mill, and a metal panel tgat I think is part of the grinding mechanism.

Any recommendations for salt to use with this grinder? We've tried two different kinds of salt, and the grinder was unable to produce a stream of salt with either. Perhaps the grains are too coarse to begin with? Shouldn't be this complicated...

Best Answer:I use a brand called Redmond Real Salt, Ancient coarse sea salt, grinder refill salt, that I buy at Whole Foods. It works fabulously in my grinder. It's a very coarse sea salt. Highly recommend a trip to Whole Foods. FYI, it's packaged in a 16 oz bag with a twist off pour spout. Good luck!!

Best Answer:I only have the pepper mill and it does leave a minor amount underneath. But I’ve also never had a pepper mill that didn’t leave a little bit of something when you set it down.

Best Answer:The knobs on the top have different colored cores. You can’t see it in the picture, but they ar not difficult to tell apart — black dot on top for pepper, white for salt. Love my grinders!
