Shun Classic 9-Piece Essential Block Set

A hollow-ground knife block set is a great fit for cooks who want dependable everyday prep tools plus a dedicated slicer for carving. Use the slicing knife for roasts and other large cuts, then switch to the boning/fillet knife when you need more control for trimming, skinning or portioning.

On the 9" hollow-ground slicing knife, the indentations are designed to help slices release from the blade more easily as you cut. That can make it simpler to keep a steady rhythm when carving and serving.

This hollow-ground knife block set comes as a set of nine pieces and includes a 9" hollow-ground slicing knife and a 6" boning/fillet knife. It also includes a combination honing steel and a 22-slot bamboo block for storage. Additional pieces complete the full set of nine.

Reach for the 6" boning/fillet knife when you are working around bones or doing detailed trimming. It is especially handy for prepping poultry, cleaning up cuts of meat and portioning fish where precision matters.

Use the combination honing steel to help maintain the edge between sharpenings. With light, controlled strokes, guide the blade along the steel and repeat on both sides, focusing on consistency instead of pressure.

Yes, the 22-slot bamboo block offers more slots than the included knives, which can be helpful if you plan to add a favorite piece later. Fit will depend on the size and shape of the knives you add, so use the slots that best match each blade.
