Dimensions of the base are 10.5in diameter by 5.75in deep, so a very wide rather than tall pot.

The inner colander sits very close to the bottom which is great because noodles and beans and such can rest in the water easily.

I would have preferred that the pasta basket go deeper into the pot. The bottom of the basket is 2.5inches from the bottom of the pot which leaves you 3.5? ...Great pasta and stock pot
