Sur La Table Bread Making Kit

A bread making kit with a stainless steel bench scraper is great for shaping and portioning dough, keeping your counter tidy and getting ready for a clean bake. It also supports better-looking loaves with tools for proofing and scoring, all in one place.

It includes a 9" round proofing basket, a bread lame with five blades, a bench scraper with a stainless steel blade and beechwood handle and a silicone bowl scraper.

Use the proofing basket to help your shaped dough hold its form during the final rise. Once the dough is ready, turn it out onto your baking surface or vessel so you can score it with the lame before baking.

Hold the dough steady and make quick, shallow scores to guide how the loaf expands in the oven. Replace blades carefully and handle them like any sharp kitchen blade, using a stable surface and a secure grip.

Yes, it’s a helpful starter set because it covers the key steps most new bakers want to practice: proofing, scoring and handling dough. It pairs well with any basic yeast bread or sourdough recipe you already like.
