A nonstick madeleine pan is best for baking traditional French-style madeleines with defined shell ridges and a clean release. It’s especially helpful when you want delicate cakes to lift out smoothly for glazing, dusting with sugar or serving right away.
This pan is designed to bake a dozen madeleines in one go. It’s a great option for batch baking when you want consistent shapes across the whole tray.
Nonstick helps with release, but some bakers still like to lightly butter the wells, especially for very tender batters or when aiming for crisp, golden edges. Follow your recipe’s guidance and adjust based on your results.
Start with a fully preheated oven and use a batter that’s properly rested if your recipe calls for it. The pan’s scalloped wells shape the cakes, and even heating helps promote consistent browning across the batch.
Yes. You can use the pan for other small, shell-shaped cakes or molded treats that bake and release like a typical madeleine batter. Keep an eye on bake time since smaller portions can cook quickly.
